Wow! What a gem. We have been coming to lake city in the off season for years now and have been wanting that perfect coffee shop latte! It was so amazing. We are going everyday this week. Their pastry’s are SO FRESH AND FLUFFY! The chocolate croissant is the best I’ve ever had. Their lattes are amazing. The service is so amazing! We sat back on the patio with our dogs. It was so perfect!!! Can’t wait to go back!
I was so excited to find incredible coffee in Lake City. The gluten free meat muffin, yuzu beignet, almond croissant, pistachio latte and Turkish coffee on the back patio are the perfect combination before a long drive back to the front range. Our entire group raved about the pastries and beverages, you can’t go wrong with Cafe 98. Thank you for the warm hospitality, we will definitely be back!

Cute place with really good espresso! Staff was friendly & re made a drink for me when another guest mistook it as their own. We had lattes here twice.
This coffee shop is incredible! They really know what goes into a good coffee. All of the baked goods are amazing you really don’t want to pass this place up! They’re open all year and just make great things happen from the hospitality to the food and drinks you just can’t go wrong here!
After coming in for breakfast croissants and coffee, we came back to get the chimney cakes, more coffee, and smoothies. The kids liked the sweet, cinnamon & sugar chimney cake with Nutella and my husband and I really enjoyed the savory chimney cake with ham & turkey, Swiss cheese & pesto in the cheddar jalapeño outside. The jalapeños gave it a kick if you like spicy, and we do! If this was in Oklahoma, I’d be a regular!
The best little cafe! All of the drinks are great, but what really steals the show is their bakery. From fresh croissants, beignets, and the most amazing blueberry danish ever - definitely add this place to your list!
I love Lake City! I was born and raised in the Gore Range and discovered this town in high school and have gone there annually ever since. This little coffee shop is big favorite. Food is great! Local and service is fantastic! I crave their coffee from the front range!
Fresh coffee and pastries in a lovely, tiny mountain town. Coffee sizes are huge (not complaining😅). Almond croissant was delicious and I really enjoyed their meat muffin. Nom, nom, nom. *Check out the dog friendly outdoor patio*
Cafe 98 is awesome! Great place to stop and get a morning coffee and pastry! The pastries are all made in house. The owners are amazing and always make sure everyone feels welcome! The atmosphere is great, and they have a nice courtyard if you want to enjoy your morning coffee and breakfast outside. 10/10 would recommend.
